Başar begun his 20 years of career in Compaq as Product Marketing Manager. Respectively, he worked as a director of product manager, personal systems work unit director and responsible of macro clients as sales manager. From 2002 to 2007, he continued his duty of sales managing for Hewlett Packard, worked as Coorporate Clients Marketing Manager at Turkcell until 2013. Between 2013-2014 he was Vice President of TTNET Marketing Manager in Turk Telekom Group and in 2014 he managed Turk Telekom and TTNET Individual Marketing Vice Manager. In 2015 he took over Cooporate Works Unit Turk Telekom, TTNET, Avea’s Marketing Vice Manager. Mert Başar, in 2016 December with the unity of the partner brands under the name of Turk Telekom, he became General Vice Manager of Turk Telekom.
Graduate of Kadıköy Anadolu Highschool and Istanbul Unicversity Business Faculty, he compeleted IESE Advanced Management Programme (AMP) in Barcelona.
Mert Başar was selected “50 CMO’s to Watch” by Global Telecoms Business Magazine in 2014. In 2013 and 2014 consequently he was selected “Annual Most Successful Marketing Managers” by Capital Magazine.
